Rome's goverment was really a mixture. And what i mean by this is that rome had monarchy (ruled by a long) , and aristocracy(goverment by nobles) and semocracy(goverment by the people). Rome had consuls which meant thwre was 2 people that were like kings, this 2 people where commanders of the army and also directed the goverment. But the power of this 2 consuls would only last a year and that consul after its year ended they could not be re elected for another 10 years after.
